In lieu of traditional poster design, each month, Dones & Nowak choose a fitting record cover from their vinyl collection, scan it, and visually remixes the typography, illustration and photography to fit the information and spirit of their next party. With over a 160 record cover posters to their credit, the mere sight of one transmits a clear message to those who are in-the-know, regardless if the design contains complete or cleanly organized information.
A testament that, in this age of information saturation, less is seductively more.

Turning our designs into a dance floor and then back into design. This is a great overview that focuses on the times we have incorporated photos from our parties into our poster designs.

In recreating this Book of Love cover, I saw it the way I think the original designer did. This one is half about what we did, and half about the adding links in the chain of art history by studying and sampling the deep underlying structures of art - and building repertoire.

In part two of our April 2023 process video we went deep into the H2D archive and put together a giant tapestry, a visual lexicon of H2D, and ask - do great artists steal?

This is absolutly the hardest we ever went.
In celebration of our 15 year milestone - we honored one of the most iconic and innovative record covers of all time by turning our remix into an actual hand made record cover, complete with the signature sticker. “Heel slowly and see. “

Such an honor to have one of our favorite bands from Atlanta back on our stage - of course we had to match the energy and vision they bring to their project the only way we know how… lightning bolts, half-tone fetishization and a healthy dose of Wacom tablet induced anxiety.

In 2018 - Red Bull Arts Detroit presented a DECA/DANCE - a 10 year retrospective of our work as H2D.
